My first gym and I have started loving it. I did my set up all alone so it was a bit brutal, but if you have 2 folks then it should be easy...instructions are adequate. Shipping was on time and I did not notice any damage at all. I would surely recommend this machine to anyone who cannot goto gym regularly and are not that hard core weight lifters. As pointed by other reviewers, take care of your machine. Build quality is quiet good and I feel confident working out on it. I have also uploaded a picture of bowflex standing next to schwin elliptical and my water heater in my garage :-)...at least you can visualize the space it takes..

I LOVE IT! Easy to put together

I LOVE IT! Easy to put together. I'm 5'4 tall female and did it by myself. Just took a while probably 4 hours, but I didn't rush. I took my time to make sure I understood the directions. Make sure when you have the base portion set up, that you have the spacing aligned for where you want this machine to stay. You will see in some reviews that there is a minor hassle of having to switch the amount of weight you want for each exercise. In my opinion, this is nothing more than taking a break between the different types of sets you would do on weight machines - moving around from machine to machine - at a gym where you pay dues. So, time wise, I just consider this to be the same concept. We aren't supposed to rush a weight training/toning workout or we'll get injuries, so I enjoy the 30-45 seconds of rest of switching things around. It covers all the muscles I want and has a variety of ways to exercise them. Today's workout will be different from one later in the week based upon this variety. I have a membership with a large gym as well, though I have more options with my bow flex than the weight machines.

It is working out great. First

I was skeptical about buying this. I am very active. But going to the gym became a burden due to work and I was not working out as much anymore. So I decided to buy this. It is working out great. First, if you are looking for something that replicates free weights... this is not for you. I knew that going in. But I have to say I am getting in a great workout. My muscles are feeling sore and I can feel the machine working. I have only had it for 2 weeks and I can see and feel a difference in my muscles already.

Great home gym

I got the gym two months ago. It was a replacement for another resistance machine, so I won't get into the debate of resistance versus free weights.

Let me begin by saying that I would give this item the full 5 stars as an exercise machine but have downgraded it to 4 stars just to call attention to a few issues that I learned about the hard way that might benefit anyone considering buying one.

This is an EXCELLENT product.

I bought this BowFlex gym after a glowing recommendation from my brother, and my doctor said I need to consider giving up free-weights. I'm a type 1 Diabetic and the free-weights have, apparently, given undo wear on my joints. I can't stop exercising, and I really enjoy lifting a lot more so than just Body-Weight exercising. So I spent about a month on my brother's Blaze to try it out. Man, is it ever nice. It's a much different feel from free-weights. The rods pull back on you when fully flexed, so the resistance you get when returning to start makes a HUGE difference. And the doc was right, my joints don't hurt at all after 2+ hours of lifting with the BowFlex, as opposed to doing the same with conventional weights. Not to mention that moving from one exercise to the next sometimes only involves moving your arm positions. So you save a LOT of time by being able to move from one exercise to the next a heck of a lot quicker. Is it perfect? Nope, not at all. But considering I'd need to pay about $8000 to get the equipment and weights required to do what this $800 bowflex does, I'd say it's worth a small sacrifice. And if you have an ailment such as arthritis, or Diabetes, this is a MUCH better option for you.

Good product, easy to use

Packaged well enough considering the weight of this. You'll need help getting it in the house or wherever you want it or take the larger pcs out of the box to move. Assembly is easy to follow but take your time. Toss the tools that comes with it and use your own ratchets and wrenches and you'll go much faster. With two people we assembled in less than 2 hrs. There are hundreds of pcs. Easy to learn and to use. Ass the extra rod 410 upgrade. Legg press is ok, not great. Same with the sliding bench/rowing set up. it functions but not as good as devices intended for that. Overall it is easy to use, set up, and move from one exercise to the next. Resistance in both directions is definitely a better more intense workout. Overall very pleased with this gym.

Minor complaints, otherwise good product.

I've had my Blaze Home Gym for a few weeks now, and here are my thoughts.

The right kind of gym for the right kind of person.

Is this the greatest home gym ever? No. Do I have to go to the gym, wait for the bros that are doing more talking and flexing to finish their 'set' so I can work out? No. Does it do everything I need it to? Yes, I had to adapt my workout a little but, yes it does. It fits in the basement of my townhouse and I can workout on my schedule. You're never going to get 'ripped' on this thing but if you're really in it for general fitness and want convenience this product is great.
