Bigger than expected

This exercise machine almost did us in. I did not expect it to be so big, in the first place. When it arrived I was shocked that it was too big to go through the door and had to be put in the garage. It took an enormous amount of time and effort to get it into the house and into the room we intended it for. My husband had to cut away part of a door frame to get it through since the machine is 29 inches and the door only 27 1/2 inches. Luckily, he's done a lot of carpentry in his day. Then came the setup of the machine itself. That took a bit of skill and finagling to put together. Once done, however, it was everything it was advertised to be. The machine itself is very, very well made and it came packaged to a fare-thee-well. Once set up for use it functions beautifully and will surely give us the therapeutic exercise we need to get through long Wisconsin winters when we're shut in and unable to get outdoors to move around. We're elderly people, aged 82 and 90 respectively, so you can imagine how hard this was to get the exercise machine in the house, in place and up and running. It was worth the effort, however and I know we're going to love it more and more as we use it.

Great piece of workout equipment with a few issues.

First off, I purchased this exact product elsewhere, so I won't comment on delivery or packaging aspects.

Wow. Perfect excercise machine for bad back, knees, etc.

A couple of years ago I had great weight loss success working out on a traditional elliptical machine. However, I developed a knee injury that made it too difficult/painful to do the ellipctical motion, and the weight came back on. This past summer, I developed 2 herniated discs in my back and one of the discs created horrid sciatica. It was difficult to walk, sit, do anything. I knew I needed an exercise machine that would be easy on my back, easy on my knees and also my shoulder. THIS IS IT! I ordered it in January and it just came last week and we assembled it over the weekend. I got a GREAT 30 minute workout today, my first day. I am at a point where it is difficult for me to use a treadmill, even difficult for me to use a recumbent bike. This machine is very "comfortable" and I was able to get my heart rate up and break a sweat. For 30 a 30 minute workout, I burned 165 calories - and that is on par with a workout on a standing elliptical. The workout felt great, my back/knees did not hurt, and I feel energized and ALIVE. Love that it doesn't have to be plugged in, and it has a host of workout programs and also works with the Polar heart monitoring system. It is a splurge... but overall, it's for your health. It's so worth it and I would not hesitate to recommend this machine to anyone. I see myself using this on a daily basis - it is quiet, so will be very easy to sit and enjoy music, even watch tv while getting in some great exercise. I LOVE THIS!

I bought this through Amazon 3 months ago - delivery was exactly as expected, no surprises. It did come bound to a pallet so it had to be dropped off in the garage until it could be uncrated. My wife and I easily uncrated it in about 5 minutes. I called my brother-in-law and three of us carried it inside without any problem. Two men could probably handle it, but the end with the flywheel is pretty heavy so three are recommended. Once in the house it took me about 30-40 minutes to assemble the pieces, very simple with tools supplied. Also, it took a few minutes to get the arm bars set, finding the right comfort range was not hard but it took a little trial and error to make sure a setting felt right for each user. The seat movement is smooth and locks securely - excellent design that accommodates a wide range of heights. My wife is 5'-0" (ok, 4'-11") and she uses position #5 - still room for people with shorter legs than her. I'm 5'-9" and I use position 10 - there are 15 positions so I'm sure most 6 footers would be well supported by this machine as well.

Just what the doctor ordered -

I recently purchased a PhysioStep RXT-1000 for my mother. The product was recommended to us by her physical therapist. She is recovering from a slight stroke and this product not only fit her rehabilitation and exercise needs but it also fit our budget. We also looked at the NuStep product but it was considerably more expensive and did not have the elliptical motion we were looking for.

Was very happy the machine was delivered on time and unloaded to the garage for safe keeping until we could get it into the house. The only reason I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5 was because it did not come with any assembly instructions. I was able to download instructions from the HCI web site but the parts that were given in the box were slightly different. My husband and I were able to figure it out and finish the assembly. That said, this is a very solid machine and works very well. Gives a good safe workout for those with joint-knee problems such as myself. The machine is large so plan ahead and measure your doorways before you bring it in the house. We had to remove the door to get it in. It is large but certainly not as large as similar machines you find at the gym. I am happy with the purchase and can now workout effectively at home at my convenience.

My husband (81) was recently hospitalized due to COPD complications and then completed an exercise therapy program. Because their location is quite a distance from us we needed an equivalent exercise machine at our home. He had been using a NuStep recumbent elliptical at the therapy center but that was too expensive for us. After much research on the internet and conferring with his physical therapist, we bought the PhysioStep RXT-1000 and we both have been using it for three weeks. My health is fine but I hope it will help me lose weight, stay in shape and it will be nice to be able to exercise indoors this winter.

Good product, should offer Home Delivery & Set-Up for an additional fee.

Extremely good product & customer service with HCI in Seattle. Note, the local freight company will only deliver it to the street outside your house. HCI set mine up for will-call @ the local dock & we got it with a pickup and put it inside my garage for assembly, which wasn't hard if you do it where it's going to live in the house, otherwise WAY to heavy.

I purchased this machine July, 2011, and I love it!! I weighed about 350 lbs. when I received it. I am in my 60's and have two arthritic knees. I use this machine 30 minutes a day 6 days a week on the "rolling hills" program. As of today I weigh 235 lbs. thanks to this machine and a weight loss program. It provides great exercise to people of any age group regardless of their mobility.

With our Dr.'s approval, we ordered this and my wife and I love working out on it. It is just like the description, very easy to use, a quality piece of equipment. Doesn't hurt my wife's knees. We both enjoy the flexibility of both upper and lower body it is giving us. Thanks for a great product.
